After months of preparation, the Fifth Summit of the Americas gets going this evening at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port-of-Spain. Most of the Caricom leaders arrived in Trinidad yesterday, in time for this morning’s meeting of Caribbean heads aboard the Caribbean Princess, starting at seven o’clock. The remainder of the heads will fly in today—among them US President Barack Obama and Venezuela’s President, Hugo Chavez.
US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, will also arrive this afternoon from Haiti, where she held talks yesterday with that island’s President, Pierre Preval. Obama flies into Trinidad aboard Air Force One around 4 pm, after a one-day visit to Mexico to discuss, among other things, the battle against the drug cartels. He will be driven in the “Beast,” straight to the Hyatt, in time for the opening ceremony at 6 pm. [continues]

From his Website:
Byron “The Dragon” Lee passed away peacefully on November 4, after a valiant battle with cancer. But the memory of his phenomenal presence in the music of Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and, indeed, the world to which he helped introduce Jamaican music – will live on through the dynamic band that he founded: Byron Lee and The Dragonaires. With mega hits, such as “Jamaica Ska”, “Tiney Winey” and “Dancehall Soca”, the band’s music has spanned and remained relevant and popular over its more than 50-year existence. The world-famous band will continue to entertain and to bring the music of Jamaica and the Caribbean to a worldwide audience. The Dragon may be gone but he lives on through the Dragonaires!

I saw this…and I am speechless… Read the documentary synopsis below:
Last summer in a rented garage on the outskirts of Queens, NY something incredible was happening. A group of imaginative tinkerers from Trinidad were working late into the nights creating something nobody had ever seen before: enormous stereo systems jury rigged onto ordinary bmx bikes. Traveling together, each behind the handlebars of his or her own massive homemade creation, they treat the neighborhood to an outrageous impromptu music and dance party on wheels. Directed by Randall Stevens, Made In Queens is a documentary film celebrating the beauty these imaginative young people have brought to their adopted home. Visit the official website

Ok , you guys must know it’s illegal to make prank phone calls , right? If you call and threaten or harass someone it’s a federal crime, right? Well this idiot didn’t threaten someone but he and his retarded friends decided to call up some popular west indian restaurants an upload it to You Tube. He’s so dumb he has his picture and his MySpace profile on his You Tube profile.
I’m not in the business of embarrassing people, but when people are working hard and you and you jerkoff friends have nothing better to do but harass them, that’s just bullshit. I know they’ll take it down soon because that’s usually what happens when shit gets on West Indian.US

Three schoolgirls and two men have been charged in connection with the "kidnapping" of 13-year-old Vanessa Nandlal, who spent two days at an Enterprise house before police found her last week.
The five have been charged with the wasteful employment of police time, and with demanding money by menace.
One of the men was charged with having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16 and with grievous sexual assault.
Nandlal, the daughter of a shoe store clerk, went missing last Tuesday evening while on her way to a parlour near her apartment at Clarke Road near the Uriah Butler Highway.
Hours later, said her brother Richard Nandlal, a call came to the family that kidnappers were holding Vanessa and she would be harmed if they reported it to the police. A ransom of $500,000 was demanded and the family said they did not have the means to pay, begging that Vanessa be freed. Anti-Kidnapping Squad officers were called in. full story

AFTER Nicoline Churaman left Tuesday’s murder scene of Manram Singh, who was killed for his car, she begged her husband to stop working PH as a side job.
"We will eat little and live long," were the convincing words Churaman used, her husband Judson Reid said as he waited for the undertakers to remove her body.
While Churaman was sensing danger for her husband, little did she know that she would become the victim.
The 38-year-old mother of one was yesterday found with her face bashed in with a boulder in the densely-forested area inside the Aripo Scientific Savannah around 2 p.m. Her body was found in a ditch.
And police believe Churaman may have been sexually assaulted by her attacker because she was found topless with both her pants and panties pulled down to her knees. full story

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad — David Beckham helped to attract around 3,000 fans to England’s practice session ahead of Sunday’s friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago.
Many fans cheered every time the Los Angeles Galaxy star touched the ball Friday at Hasely Crawford Stadium. The 80-minute light workout involved jogging, skills drills and a game of two-touch soccer.
England players applauded the crowd for their support at the end.
England coach Fabio Capello is resting seven of the Manchester United and Chelsea players who played in last week’s Champions League final.
